What Are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are the natural essences of a plant. Essential oils give a plant its scent, protect it from hazardous environmental conditions, and even assist it with pollination, among other important functions and benefits. They are extracted from the roots, seeds, flowers, or bark of a plant in highly concentrated amounts.
How Do Essential Oils Work?
Essential oils may be used in a lot of ways. These can be applied directly to the skin, inhaled or ingested which allows us to respond to them biologically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Applied directly to the skin, their unique features allow them to pass easily through our skin and cells membranes. They then travel around the body via the bloodstream. In this way they are able to deliver a range of benefits to the body’s systems and organs. Through a diffuser, they can be absorbed through the olfactory bulb. Because smell is our most emotional sense, they are able to affect our feelings and emotions.
One essential oil can do so many different things for you all at once–physically, emotionally, and mentally. See our Shop for more info!
