The world of Spirit is all around us. It merely exists beyond what we consider our normal means of sensory perception. Mediumship is the extension beyond those means allowing for communication between the spiritual and physical worlds. A medium serves as an instrument, a bridge between the two worlds, by which this communication occurs. They are able to raise their vibrations to be receptive to the higher frequencies in which Spirit vibrates. Often this is done through meditation.
There are several types of mediumship. The most common type and the one in which I work is mental mediumship. While communicating with spirit, I am fully conscious, not in a trance-like state. Messages come mentally, through my mind, but not through my thinking mind, rather through my intuitive mind. In this type of mediumship, information is received in several different ways. The primary means are:
Clairvoyance – (clear vision) In this form of mediumship, the mind’s eye sees pictures or images, sometimes even movie-like clips of events or information. Typically these are seen only in the mind’s eye, but some mediums do have the gift of physical clairvoyance, seeing Spirit as apparitions.
Clairsentience – (clear feeling) Through this type of sensory perception, information is provided through feelings and emotions.
Clairaudience – (clear hearing) Sounds or words from Spirit come through with this method. It could be bells ringing, a name being said, or the sound of a passing train – whatever spirit needs to give to help the medium translate the message. These sounds can be mentally or externally audible depending up on the practitioner.
Claircognizance – (clear knowing) In this form of spirit communication, the medium has a “light bulb” moment. They simply know something to be true. It happens quickly and sometimes goes as fast as it comes. It is not an idea that is pondered on and decision made, it is simply just known to be true.
There are other means of spirit communication as well – clairgustance (clear tasting), clairtangency (clear touching), and clairscent (clear smelling) as examples. Most mediums use some combinations of these tools. I work primarily through clairvoyance but also receive messages through clairsentience, clairaudience and claircognizance. However, focusing on the method in which the information comes is less important to me than allowing and delivering the messages.
All messages come from spirit with your highest and greatest good as the intention. The messages come only in love and always without judgment to facilitate healing, understanding, transformation and peace.
